Staff at Clearstream Bank in London were surprised to learn last week that Maxim Worcester, formerly the head of communications at Deutsche Borse in Frankfurt, was returning to Germany to manage the Berlin office of the political and security risks consultancy Control Risks Group. Worcester, who worked with both the Economist Intelligence Unit and Frankfurter Allgemeine in Germany before joining Deutsche Borse, was at the ambitious Swiss-German exchange and clearing group for five years. Having worked exceptionally closely with Deutsche Borse CEO Werner Seifert for most of that period, Worcester was moved to London last year. Worcester has a house and family connections in Berlin.
