Top of the most senior executives at Deutsche Boerse, Matthias Ganz and Mathias Hlubek, are leaving the company. Both men were closely associated with the former CEO, Wernner Seifert.

Ganz and Hlubek both resigned from their position as Members of the Executive Board of Deutsche Boerse AG yesterday. The company says “the contracts of employment have been revoked amicably and in mutual agreement.”

Matthias Ganz has been responsible for Operations since 2003, while Hlubek has been Chief Financial Officer of Deutsche Boerse since 2001.

Reto Francioni, CEO of Deutsche Boerse AG, will assume Mathias Hlubek’s responsibilities at Deutsche Boerse AG on an interim basis in addition to his own tasks. The responsibilities of Matthias Ganz will be taken over by the other Members of the Executive Board in their respective business segments.

Matthias Ganz (43) joined Deutsche Boerse in 1993 and has worked in a number of management functions in the settlement and custody area since 1997. He was appointed member of the Executive Board and Chief Operation Officer in 2003. As Managing Director Integration Matthias Ganz played a large part in the integration of Clearstream into Deutsche Boerse Group. Since 2003, Ganz has been Chief Executive Officer of Clearstream Banking AG, where he served on the Executive Board from 2001.

Mathias Hlubek (43) joined Deutsche Boerse in 1999 and was appointed a Member of the Executive Board in 2001. Hlubek was Chief Financial Officer and was also responsible for the Corporate Center and for the Market Data & Analytics area. With Mathias Hlubek as CFO Deutsche Boerse conducted its successful IPO and completed several transactions, including the full acquisition of Clearstream in 2002. From May to October 2005 Mathias Hlubek coordinated the activities of Deutsche Boerse’s Executive Board on behalf of the Supervisory Board.

Kurt Viermetz, Chairman of Deutsche Boerse’s supervisory Board, and Reto Francioni expressed thanks to Matthias Ganz and Mathias Hlubek for their service to the company. “They made a significant contribution to the company’s success,” they said.
