The first casualty of the HSBC takeover of Bank of Bermuda looks to be Martin Lancaster, the Head of Global Operations at the Caribbean bank. Rumour has it that he has resigned. Under the proposed management structure for the merged operations, Lancaster would have joined Nick Bryan (head of HSBC Custody & Clearing in Hong Kong) and Mike Martin (head of HSBC GIS in London) as direct reports to the increasingly stratospheric John Gubert.
