David Carruthers, co-head of Markit’s Securities Finance (MSF) division, will leave the company towards the end of the year to join a new venture outside of securities lending.
Carruthers is the latest high profile departure at Markit, after William Duff Gordon left his position as a director at the firm in February this year.
According to the data analytics firm, “Ed Marhefka, who has been the co-head of Markit’s securities finance business will now take on full responsibility for running the business. Directors Oliver Smith and Pierre Khemdoudi will support Ed in leading the business in Europe.”
Carruthers was previously a segment director at Data Explorers, before it was taken over by Markit in 2012.
He also worked at risk management analytics firm Barrie & Hibbert, which is now owned by Moody’s, as a senior consultant on portfolio risk, asset liability modelling and derivative pricing.
