Mark Robinson, aged 32, has been appointed Head of Research and Chief Strategist of CA IB International Markets. With a fund management background, he will take over the responsibility of Equity Research in Central and Eastern Europe within CA IB.

“Mark’s in depth knowledge of the market gained on the buy side in Central and Eastern Europe is an ideal precondition to fill this position. We are convinced that Mark will strengthen CA IB’s leading position in the Equity Research market in Central and Eastern Europe,” says Fritz Schweiger, Member of the Management Board of CA IB International Markets.

Mark Robinson joined CA IB in March this year from JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management, London, where he was fund manager from 1999. In the last three years there he managed US$ 2.3 billion of regional funds committed to the Emerging European markets. Prior to 1999, he worked as Fund Manager for Pacific region portfolios at Fleming Asset Management and as investment analyst for the Far East markets at National Provident Institution in London. After graduating from Oxford University, Mark Robinson completed the Investment Management Certificate and the Associate Examinations of the Society of Investment Professionals.

CA IB International Markets, based in London, is a 100% subsidiary of Bank Austria Creditanstalt. CA IB manages BA-CA Group’s equity brokerage business in Central and Eastern Europe. In March this year CA IB was once again named number one in Equity Research in Poland and Hungary from the U.S.-based financial magazine Institutional Investor. In his new capacity, Mark Robinson succeeds Peter Szopo, who now heads Bank Austria Creditanstalt’s Markets Research Department.
