Marco Baggioli, the former chief of Monte Titoli in Milan, has joined JP Morgan as vice president and head of its American Depositary Receipt (ADR) Group for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

He follows former JP Morgan Milan colleague Liz Nolan back to Morgan from Merrill Lynch, where he joined her in the then-ambitious but now downsized Securities Services division. Baggioli, who will be based in London, will have responsibility for sales, marketing and client relationship management within the AD group.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Marco to JPMorgan to head-up and expand the single largest division in our ADR business,” says Patrick Colle, global head of JPMorgan’s ADR Group. “Marco has a demonstrated record of establishing and growing global securities businesses, and we are confident in his ability to strategically execute the next leg of our expansion in the EMEA region where we have a client base of more than 150 of the region’s most prominent ADR issuers.”

Prior to joining Merrill Lynch’s EMEA securities services division in London, Baggioli was general manager and executive director for Monte Titoli S.p.A., the Italian Central Depositary. He was also a member of the executive committee

of

ECSDA,

the

European Central Securities Depositories Association.

He has headed product development and new business strategy posts for BNP Paribas in London, Paris and Milan. Prior to that, with JPMorgan in Milan, he initiated the company’s multi-direct custody & clearing services business in the Italian market.

Baggioli graduated from Universit Bocconi in Milan with degrees in economics and business administration.
