March 2004 wasl the most successful month in the history of Eurex, the Deutsche Borse controlled international derivatives market has reported. Two days before the end of the month, Eurex had already traded over 107 million contracts, surpassing the previous monthly trading record of around 106 million contracts in March 2003.
Eurex had already set new daily records in total turnover and in trading in Bund, Bobl and Schatz futures on 5 March. The Bund future was the most heavily traded futures contract in the world in 2003.
