MaplesFS, the parent company of Maples Fund Services and Maples Fiduciary, has opened a full-service office in Singapore for fund administration, corporate formation and fiduciary needs

The Maples Fund Services team in Singapore will be led by Eastern Fong, regional head of fund services—Asia, and will focus on providing middle office, data aggregation and reporting, and fund administration services to Singapore domiciled funds for family offices, private wealth managers and institutional investors. The Singapore group will also service Cayman Islands funds that need local support in Singapore.

Meanwhile Hugh Thompson, global co-head of fiduciary, will lead the Singapore group for Maples Fiduciary, which will focus on company formation, registered office, company secretarial, client accounting, voluntary liquidations, and directorship services for Singapore domiciled entities. Maples Fiduciary in Singapore will also provide director services for Cayman, Hong Kong and British Virgin Islands that need a presence in the region. This move further solidifies the group’s brand in the region, where trends and market activity have demonstrated confidence in continued growth.

“We are excited about the opportunity that Singapore creates as a jurisdiction, particularly as it relates to business arising from family offices, institutional investors, hedge funds and private equity. Our presence in Singapore will significantly boost our brand as a regional offering with close ties to our existing office in Hong Kong,” says MaplesFS chief executive officer, Scott Somerville.

Maples Fund Services and Maples Fiduciary will both be based in the same building as the company’s affiliate law firm Maples and Calder (Singapore).
