Maples Group has hired a former director from Intertrust as its new country head for the Netherlands, as it looks to bolster its offering to Dutch funds.
Yuri Schuurman joins the fund administration firm as a senior vice president and head of the Netherlands office, where he will have oversight of its range of fiduciary and corporate administration services to special purpose vehicles and Dutch holding companies.
He will also be responsible for driving the Group’s strategy and growing its Netherlands business.
Schuurman previously spent over seven years at Dutch-headquartered Intertrust Group where he was most recently a director for corporate services.
Since establishing operations in Amsterdam in 2015, the office serves as a cornerstone to Maples Group’s wider European and global offering.
“Over the last five years, the Maples Group has solidified its position as one of the leading fiduciary services providers in the Netherlands and we continue to see significant opportunities for our business,” said Tom Davies, global head of fiduciary, Maples Group.
“We look forward to Yuri’s leadership as we navigate the next phase of our growth in this thriving market and are confident that we will continue to deliver outstanding service and best-in-class solutions to our clients with Netherlands-specific requirements.”
Maples Group recently made two strategic hires for its fiduciary services team in its Jersey office, with Mark Hill and Jon Le Sueur joining the business as vice president and compliance officer, respectively.
