Maples Finance, the wholly owned fund administration subsidiary of offshore law firm Maples and Calder, is to open an office in Luxembourg. This follows the opening of new offices in Dublin and Hong Kong in 2006.
Maples Finance Luxembourg is to act as a domiciliation agent and will provide fiduciary, administration and accounting services to structured finance companies and directors’ services to investment funds established in Luxembourg.
“Our structured finance clients operate on a global basis and many of them already work with us in Cayman, Jersey and our more recently established Dublin office,” says Phillipa White, the Head of Structured Finance for Maples Finance. “By opening the office in Luxembourg, we offer them the same approach and standard of service that they have come to expect when setting up structured finance companies with Maples Finance.”
White will be moving from Maples’ Cayman office to Luxembourg to set up operations. She will be assisted by David Moscato who joins Maples Finance Luxembourg as a Senior Vice President from Equity Trust Co. (Luxembourg) where he was the Legal Officer for the Global Structured Finance Team. Moscato is a qualified lawyer with extensive legal and tax experience in the European market.
Maples Finance currently provides management and administration to over 3,000 structured finance vehicles and also provides fund administration, registrar and transfer agency, fiduciary and corporate secretarial services to investment funds.
