Horizon Cash Management has been named cash manager for the new Enigma Asset Management Cognition Fund, a Bahamas-domiciled managed futures fund.
The fund is being marketed to Chinese investors, which is a new territory for managed futures. As a new fund, Enigma has joined Horizon’s Emerging Manager Program, designed to assist funds starting with smaller AuM. The program provides a customized, separately managed cash management account, and cash balances exceeding margin are held in custody by Northern Trust.
“In the process of launching the Enigma Fund, we focused on replicating all possible efficiencies that large funds offer but for our structure that is starting with smaller AUM. As part of these ‘best practices’ we look to Horizon Cash Management to generate a higher return than the typical benchmark of U.S. T-bills on the fund’s cash reserves while keeping within our low-risk parameters,” says Sean Guo, director at Enigma.
