Matt Mandalinci has been appointed president of SunGard eProcess Intelligence , the SunGard ePI divisioin which is responsible for straight through and exception processing at the IT giant.

“It is very exciting to be running a business that not only pioneered important technology developments in the market, but has also maintained a leading position over the last six years ,” says Mandalinci. “This is especially the case when you consider that automated exception processing is now a mainstream subject, firmly on the buying list of almost every global banking institution.

SunGard eProcess Intelligence remains the only software company that has automated not only the identification of exceptional items, but also their automatic research, messaging, repair and reprocessing. With developments such as CLS and shorter settlementcycles, and indeed the focus of Basel II on rewarding effective operational risk management with lower capital adequacy requirements, exception processing solutions are increasingly at the top of the banking technology agenda.”

Mandalinci joined SunGard in 1992 and was previously group managing director of SunGard Trading and Risk Systems in the Asia Pacific region and president of BancWare, a key product of SunGard Trading and Risk Systems. He has overseen the company’s Asia Pacific operations since 1999 and has resided in Singapore since 2000. Mr. Mandalinci has been involved in an executive capacity with a number of software companies, most notably Pilot Executive Software, Thorn EMI and The Data Group in Massachusetts. Mr. Mandalinci holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the Singapore Economic Review Board. He will be located in the company’s headquarters in Livingston, New Jersey in the U.S.
