A managing director of Credit Suisse’s Beijing office, Zhu Lei, is leaving to set up a private equity firm, according to a report on Bloomberg.

Lei aims to raise RMB9 billion ($1.3 billion) for two private equity funds.

The funds, which are currently being raised, will focus on investments in China.

Lei is looking for RMB4.5 billion from Chinese investors, including state-owned companies, for each of the two funds. One of the funds will target infrastructure and utilities, according to the report.
