Managed Funds Association Asks SEC For Extension Of Comment Period On Proposed Hedge Fund Registration Rule

The Managed Funds Association (MFA), the voice of the US hedge fund industry, has asked the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to extend the comment period for the proposed rule that would mandate hedge funds to register with the SEC.

The Managed Funds Association (MFA), the voice of the US hedge fund industry, has asked the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to extend the comment period for the proposed rule that would mandate hedge funds to register with the SEC.

In the letter, MFA requests that the 60 day comment period be extended to 90 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register, thereby changing the deadline for comments to 28 October 2004.

MFA’s letter is also signed by other industry Associations, including the Chamber of Commerce of the United States.
