Man Investments opened a Canadian operations late last week. Man Investments Canada Corp, which will specialize in alternative investment products for private client and institutional investors, is led by Toreigh Stuart as Chief Executive Officer.
Man says the goal is to build a broad range of investment products to suit the private client and institutional market. The initial staff is six.
The group will cover all of Canada, with a senior executive based in British Columbia to assist with the West Coast.
Two long-standing, senior executives of Man Investments, John M. Kelly and Richard C. Ewan, will also be a part of the new venture. Kelly, who has been with the company for nearly twenty years, and is President and CEO of Man Investments Inc., based in Chicago, will serve as Chairman.
Ewan, who will be Director of Product Development beginning January 1, 2007, has been with the firm more than thirteen years. “We see exceptional opportunities in this country, with a rapidly growing appetite for our brand of products,” says Kelly. “Man Investments has developed significant demand for its products, with approximately C$500 million raised through our successful strategic alliance with Canadian asset manager BluMont Capital Corporation. Our new operation will build on this experience and broaden the range of alternative investment products available in Canada.”
