Lux Capital has announced that Adam Kalish will join the firm as a director.
Adam joins Lux Capital from Everest Capital, where he served as a director at the multi-strategy opportunistic hedge fund with assets in excess of $1 billion. Prior to Everest, Adam spent more than three years with Quellos Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm. He also worked at Dreamworks SKG in Los Angeles, where he reported directly to the president of the studio. Adam holds dual degrees in Economics and Communications from the University of Miami.
“Adam’s relevant investment and operational experience at some of the leading alternative fund managers is of great value to Lux,” said Lux Capital co-founder and Managing Director Robert Paull. “The addition of Adam will help Lux Capital continue its development as the premier investor in early-stage nanotechnology companies.”
“Over the course of just five years, Lux Capital has built one of the most enviable emerging franchises in all of private equity,” said Kalish. “Lux was one of the first groups to recognize nanotechnology as an investment opportunity-and the combination of domain expertise and proprietary edges make this a team that I’m proud to be a part of.”
