Lehman Brothers announced today the addition of research analyst Venu Krishna to head the Firm’s U.S. Convertibles Research coverage. Based in New York, Mr. Krishna – known as Krish – will report to Steven R. Hash, head of U.S. Equity Research, and Jake Albright, global head of the Global Convertibles business.

According to Mr. Hash, Mr. Krishna will be responsible for directing Lehman Brothers’ U.S. convertibles research coverage, coordinating with the Firm’s London and Tokyo research teams, and working with Lehman Brothers’ industry analysts to offer clients sector and industry analysis, structural analysis, and investment recommendations for those securities.

“As convertibles continue to become a more attractive asset class among investors, there is increased demand to provide clients with added depth and analysis of these securities,” Mr.Hash said. “Mr. Krishna’s background and expertise in the issues relating to convertibles and its further development in the capital markets system are a real positive for Lehman Brothers’ clients.”

Mr. Krishna joins Lehman Brothers from Salomon Smith Barney, where he was a member of that firm’s convertibles research group since 1995. Mr. Krishna earned his MBA in Finance from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, a BA in Economics from the University of Delhi, and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Lehman Brothers’ Global Equity Research group comprises some 500 professionals in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Menlo Park, Washington, D.C., London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, following more than 1,500 companies in 75 industries worldwide.
