Mark Bourgeois will be joining Lehman Brothers as managing director and co-head of Global Institutional Distribution with a focus on alternative products.

Bourgeois will be based in New York, where he will join Eric Johnson, managing director, as co-head of Global Institutional Distribution. Johnson has focused on traditional products at Lehman Brothers since 2005.

Bourgeois and Johnson will report jointly to Joseph Amato, managing director and global head of Asset Management, and Michael J. Odrich, managing director and global head of Private Equity, within Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division.

“Mark and Eric will make a terrific team, enabling us to deliver a broad range of both traditional and alternative solutions to our clients,” says Amato.

“With Marks strong institutional relationships with limited and general partners, we are positioned to continue to aggressively build our diversified Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Fund platform,” adds Odrich.

Bourgeois assumes his new role in early May. Most recently, he led the UBS Private Funds Group for eight years. Prior to UBS, Bourgeois was a founder in the same business at PaineWebber and integrated that business into the UBS platform following PaineWebbers acquisition in 2000.

Bourgeois has been instrumental in raising more than $100 billion globally through more than 50 different alternative investment funds.
