Lehman Brothers has appointed Perry Hoffmeister as head of Investment Management for Europe and the Middle East.

Hoffmeister will remain a member of the Europe and Middle East Executive Committee and will join the Investment Management Executive Committee.

Hoffmeister will report to to George Walker, global head of InvestmentManagement, Jeremy Isaacs, CEO for Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacificand Benoit Savoret, COO, Europe and the Middle East.

His experience, understanding and leadership skills will be extraordinarily useful in working across the Firm to deliver the best investment management solutions to the most sophisticated clients,” says Walker.

“I am confident that Perrys appointment will allow the firm to further extend in Europe and the Middle East the strong momentum established across our global investment management platform,” adds Isaacs.

Hoffmeister joined the firm in 1988 in the Media Investment Banking group in New York and was promoted to managing director in 1998. In 2000, he was named co-global head of the Communications banking group, he ran the global communications and media groups from 2003 and in 2004 relocated to London.

Hoffmeister has been co-head of the Investment Banking Division for Europe and the Middle East since 2004. During this period, the European Investment Banking Division achieved a number of important milestones, including substantial growth in revenues, profitability and league table rankings.

In conjunction with Hoffmeisters assumption of his new role, Christian Meissner will become sole head of Investment Banking, Europe and the Middle East. Initially joining the firm in 2004 as co-head of Investment Banking, Germany and Austria, Meissner has served as co-head alongside Hoffmeister since 2006.
