Lehman Brothers, the global investment bank, announced two senior appointments to its Singapore office.

In the newly created role of head of equity research, Singapore and Southeast Asia, Jit Soon Lim will further extend the firms strong global capabilities in research with coverage of the Southeast Asia region. Lim will be responsible for a team of research analysts, and report to Kent Chan, deputy co-head of equity research, Asia-Pacific ex-Japan.

In the newly created role of head of FX strategy, Asia-Pacific ex-Japan, Simon Flint will lead the expansion of the firms Asian foreign exchange strategy, enhancing research coverage for clients in Asian currencies. Flint will report locally to Hua He, head of equity and fixed income research, Asia-Pacific, and globally to Jim McCormick, global head of FX strategy.

“We are extremely pleased that Jit Soon has joined Lehman Brothers,” says Hua He. “He is highly-regarded in Singapore both by investing clients and corporates, and well-known for having led a #1 ranked research team. The depth of his experience and strength of his relationships in Southeast Asia will be a tremendous asset to the firm as we build our research capability in the region.”

Lim joins Lehman Brothers from Citigroup, where he was head of research, Singapore. Prior to that, he served as head of research at UBS Securities, Singapore, and as a property and banking analyst at Barings Securities. Lim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Flint joins Lehman Brothers from Merrill Lynch, Singapore, where he was head of global FX strategy, and prior to that served as head of emerging Asia, FX, fixed income and sovereign strategy. Previously, he served as senior markets strategist, Asia, at Bank of America, Singapore. Flint holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Keele University, and a Masters degree in Economics from University of Cambridge.
