State Street announced today that Jessica La Trobe Hynes has been appointed to vice president of sales for State Street’s Investment Services business in the UK. Based in State Street’s London offices, she will develop new institutional relationships in the UK, focusing primarily on the pension sector. La Trobe Hynes will report to Martha Whitman, vice president and head of UK sales and marketing for State Street’s Investment Services business.

La Trobe Hynes most recently served as senior relationship manager for JPMorgan Investor Services in London, where she managed the funds merger of Chase Fleming Asset Management and JPMorgan Investment Management, and the resulting entity, JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management. Prior to working for JPMorgan Chase, she was employed by Brown Brothers Harriman in Luxembourg as head of sales and relationship management.

“Jessica has an extensive knowledge of the complexities and servicing concerns related to institutional clients,” said Martha Whitman. “With over ten years of experience in working with high-profile financial clients, she will have a positive impact on our UK sales initiatives.”

“I am delighted to be joining the State Street team,” said La Trobe Hynes. “With the continued growth of private pensions in the UK, new opportunities related to reform measures, and State Street’s ability to service pension schemes on a global scale, this is an exciting time for the company.”

On the same day State Street announced another appointment – Farnaz Milani has been appointed to vice president of offshore sales. Based in State Street’s London offices, she will be responsible for offshore business development in the UK for Luxembourg, Dublin and Cayman funds. The majority of offshore funds are domiciled in these markets due to their low tax rates and reduced fixed overhead expenses. Milani will report to Thierry Logier, director of offshore sales in State Street’s Luxembourg office.

Milani most recently served as vice president of offshore product sales at The Bank of New York (BNY) in London, where she was responsible for growing business in Luxembourg, Dublin, and Cayman Islands.

“With her extensive knowledge of offshore markets and product structures, Farnaz will be an excellent addition to our sales team,” said Thierry Logier. “We are pleased that she will lead the continued growth of our offshore business by working closely with our UK domestic sales team.”

Prior to her employment with BNY, Milani worked in State Street’s Canada office, where she served as account manager, responsible for planning and prioritizing fund conversions between Luxembourg and Toronto markets. She also worked as a mutual fund accountant and senior fund accountant.

“I am very pleased to be re-joining State Street,” said Milani. “I began my career with the company more than 13 years ago, and look forward to helping State Street continue to grow its client base. The offshore market is an area of tremendous development potential and the opportunities to build new business are significant. State Street has built a solid reputation for delivering customized solutions for clients, and I am delighted to be working with the company again.”
