Chris Kunkle is leaving his position as director of securities lending and market risk at The Risk Management Association (RMA) to join Wells Fargo as a managing director in securities finance. Fran Garritt has succeeded Kunkle at RMA, moving up from the associate director position.
Kunkle will start his new position on Oct. 9 in New York. At Wells Fargo, Kunkle will be responsible for business and relationship development and will provide regulatory guidance related to securities finance. His position is a new role created by Wells Fargo, and he will report to Peter Abric, managing director and head of securities finance.
Kunkle will remain involved with the RMA, serving as a member of the executive committee. His successor, Garritt, has been at the RMA for 13 years. In addition to serving as associate director, Garritt has also held the role of market risk manager and other roles related to securities lending and market risk within the organization. His work has involved regulatory outreach and providing RMA members with events and benchmarking activities.
As director, Garritt says his goals for the next year “are continuing securities lending related outreach discussions with regulators, aggressively providing commentary and guidance for a variety of regulatory proposals, communication with interrelated trading associations and continuing to bring industry participants together through certain peer sharing events.”
