Knight Equity Markets International Ltd was approved Monday as an OMX Nordic Exchange member, and will gain access to trading on the exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen.
“OMX promotes trading on its Nordic exchanges by offering a Nordic Exchange Membership which makes it possible for a member to operate easily and directly on the three exchanges,” said Jouni Torasvirta, president of Securities Trading Services. “We are pleased to see that Knight seizes that opportunity and warmly welcome them as a new member to the Nordic Exchange.”
Knight Equity Markets International Ltd will be trading from London. It is a subsidiary of Knight Capital Group Inc, based in the U.S. and listed on Nasdaq. Knight Equity Markets International provides comprehensive trade execution services in cash equities to institutions and broker-dealers in the U.S., European and international equity markets, a news release said.
The Nordic Exchange Membership offering is a part of OMX’s aim to create an integrated and efficient Nordic marketplace, a news release said. It gives members an opportunity to operate more seamlessly across the Nordic borders.
Knight Equity Markets International Ltd will start trading on the following dates: Helsinki Stock Exchange on Wednesday, Stockholm Stock Exchange on March 29 and Copenhagen Stock Exchange on April 12.
