Fidelity Investments has appointed Dr. Klaus Mцssle as Managing Director of its institutional business in Germany and Austria. Mцssle is expected to join Fidelity in July from Deutsche Asset Management , where he has worked since 1989, after qualifying and practicing law in both Germany and the United States. As a Managing Director and member of DeAM’s Board of Management he has been responsible for a number of important areas and functions, including major client relationships. Klaus Mцssle is also currently serving as President of the European Asset Management Association.

At Fidelity he will build Fidelity’s German institutional business and will lead a team that includes Dirk Tiemann and Karen Zimmermann. He will report to Peter Lord, Managing Director of Fidelity’s European Institutional business, and to Klaus-Juergen Baum, Managing Director of Fidelity in Germany.

“Klaus joins us at a very exciting time in the development of our institutional business ,” says Lord.” Germany is a key market in our plans to build Fidelity’s institutional presence in Europe. Trends in the market towards greater transparency and specialisation have already generated growing demand for our investment expertise, both from consultants and the German market at large. Klaus’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable in helping Fidelity achieve this goal.”
