Chapwood Capital has partnered with Kevin McCormick and Harry Sharlach, who will oversee the firm’s long/short credit strategy, according to Craig Pollak, chief executive officer of the alternative investment management and advisory firm.
“Kevin McCormick and Harry Sharlach have extensive experience running long/short credit portfolios, particularly in the US high yield space, and have worked together as a team for nearly six years,” said Mr. Pollak. “We are pleased to have them on our platform and believe they will provide our clients with the opportunity to generate attractive and consistent absolute returns with low volatility.”
Mr. McCormick, who joins Chapwood as portfolio manager, brings approximately 20 years of credit experience, with ten years as a long/short credit manager. Previously, he was managing director and head of high yield fixed income for Weiss, Peck & Greer, where he was portfolio manager of the WPG Credit Arbitrage Fund. Prior to that, Mr. McCormick was head of high yield asset management at UBS Brinson.
Mr. Sharlach joins Chapwood as senior analyst and trader, bringing approximately 11 years of experience, including seven years as a long/short credit manager. Mr. Sharlach was most recently a Managing Director and co-portfolio manager of the Advent Credit Opportunity Strategy Fund at Advent Capital Management. Previously, he was managing director and co-manager of WPG Credit Arbitrage Funds for Weiss, Peck & Greer; co-manager of the credit arbitrage strategy at UBS Brinson; and fixed income portfolio manager at TIG Holdings.
