Julie Dickson is to head transition management at Mellon Global Investments Limited, the international distribution subsidiary of Mellon Financial Corporation. As Director of Transition Management Marketing for Europe, her brief is to develop Mellon’s transition management business in the region.

Dickson will be based in London and will report to Greg Brisk, Chief Operating Officer of Mellon Global Investments.

“Managing costs and risk in portfolio transitions has become much more critical at this time of lower securities market growth, so Julie’s appointment is very timely at a time of growing demand for specialist expertise in transition management in Europe,” says Jon Little, Mellon Global Investments’ Chief Executive Officer. “I’m pleased that we have been able to attract someone of Julie’s calibre.”

Dickson will also work closely with Mark Keleher, President of Mellon Transition Management Services (MTMS) in San Francisco. The MTMS group specialises in providing transition management services to institutional clients.

“With her extensive experience in transition management, and her in-depth expertise in portfolio restructurings, Julie is a valuable addition to the Mellon organisation,” says Keleher. “Her proven track record in serving the transition management needs of institutional clients and consultants abroad will be a significant asset to our team. We look forward to working together with Julie to further expand Mellon’s transition services globally.”

Dickson comes to Mellon Global Investments from Barclays Global Investors in London, where she was a product strategist and transition manager responsible for designing and presenting portfolio/plan restructuring solutions to institutional clients and investment consultants. Previously, she was a principal in the firm’s transition services group in San Francisco and London, playing a consultative role to clients before and throughout the portfolio transition process. As a transition manager, Dickson was also responsible for execution of multi-asset class portfolio restructurings. Prior to that, Dickson worked for Merrill Lynch in San Francisco.
