HSBC Asset Management has made a second major appointment in its business development team in the UK this year, recruiting Julian Lyne as director, institutional investment.
Julian Lyne will build on HSBC’s relationships with investment consultants and will refine and promote HSBC’s institutional investment products and services to the UK market. Julian joins an eight-strong team headed by Geoff Cheetham, head of defined contribution and institutional business development, who was appointed in January 2003.
Julian Lyne brings over 10 years’ experience in the industry to HSBC. He worked for over five years at JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management where, most recently, he headed defined contribution services and had responsibility for client and consultant relations. Previously, Julian worked at Fidelity for five years.
Dean Buckley, chief executive officer of the UK division of HSBC Asset Management, said: “Julian’s appointment demonstrates our ability to attract the best people and forms part of our ambitious plans for our institutional business. Julian’s experience and success in this field will help us further develop our business in this sector.”
