Juergen Sattler has left Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA) and joined RZB Vienna as head of sub-custody sales in central and eastern Europe.
The appointment is a measure of the seriousness with which RZB Austria is tackling the third party custody oportunities in east and central Europe, for Sattler is one of the most experienced custodian bankers covering the region.
Sattler spent nine years in the custody group at BA-CA, starting his career as Relationship Manager for the Austrian sub-custody business. He headed the Austrian client relationship team at BA-CA from 1998 to 2000, and in 2001 became Global Head of Sales and Relationship Management for the entire central and eastern European region.
RZB has sub-custody clients in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine, which it services both directly and via a hub in Vienna, but the majority are at present affiliated entities. However, RZB is a well known brand in east and central Europe, and is present in 18 markets throughout region altogether, as a retail savings bank.
Sattler says he intends to devote the early part of the year to “gap analysis on the product side and keeping my client and industry relationships in a lively status.”
