Eurex executive board member Jürg Spillmann is retiring from his main positions at the end of 2013, and starting January 2014, he will become a member of the supervisory board for Eurex Zürich, and he will also assume the role of deputy supervisory board chairman for European Energy Exchange (EEX) and European Commodity Clearing (ECC).
Spillmann has served as deputy CEO of Eurex Zürich and Eurex Frankfurt since 1998, and he has held the same role at Eurex Clearing since April 2013. Over the course of his career, Spillmann has helped migrate exchange-traded derivatives from floor trading to electronic trading, and he contributed to the development of electronic systems for derivatives trading.

In addition to his work at Eurex, Spillmann also served as head of the SIX Swiss Exchange executive committee from 2002 through 2007, and from 1995 to 2002, he was also a member of the SIX’s management committee and served as chief information officer.
Spillmann’s roles in the Eurex executive board will be taken over by the existing executive board members. Erik Tim Müller will take Spillmann’s role at Eurex Clearing, and Michael Peters will take over Spillmann’s positions at Eurex Zürich and Eurex Frankfurt.
