JPMorgan received four awards of excellence at The Asian Banker’s Leadership Achievement Awards ceremony, which was held in conjunction with The Asian Banker Summit in Hanoi.

The awards JPMorgan won were:

Most Admired Leader outside of the Asia Pacific and Gulf Regions Jamie Dimon. Dimon, chairman of the board and CEO for JPMorgan, based in New York, was recognised for the strategic leadership and direction he has provided to the firm. In this regard, The Asian Banker made reference to JPMorgan being among the banks least affected by subprime lending crisis in the US.

Achievement in Corporate and Investment Banking Gaby Abdelnour. Abdelnour, Hong Kong-based Asia Pacific chairman and CEO for JPMorgan, received his award for the firm’s improved performance which has followed the significant changes made to the corporate and investment banking operations in the region.

Achievement in Trade Finance Asif Raza. Raza, Singapore-based managing director and Asia Pacific head of Trade and Logistics Management for JPMorgan Treasury Services, received his award for his unparalleled leadership of the Asia Pacific Trade Finance team, which in 2007 included significant business growth, business diversification, offering integrated solutions as well as contributing to the trade industry.

Promising Young Banker in the Asia Pacific and Gulf Region Asif Raza.Topping off an outstanding year of business growth and significant industry accolades, Raza was also named the Promising Young Banker in the region. This award recognises the next generation leaders who are under 40 years of age.
