JPMorgan Investor Services (JPMIS) says it has been selected by the Merrill Lynch Insurance Group (MLIG) to provide global custody for its general account assets.

JPMIS’s relationship with MLIG began in October 2002 when JPMIS was selected to provide global custody, accounting and administration services to MLIG’s new mutual fund affiliate, MLIG Variable Insurance Trust. As a result of the strong relationship and the high level of customer service provided, JPMIS has been able to expand the range of services it provides to MLIG with the addition of this custody mandate.

“JPMIS was a natural choice for this mandate because of its considerable expertise and strong technology platform,” says Connie Yost, at MLIG. “We look forward to continuing to work with JPMorgan to help achieve our investment goals.”

“We are excited to grow our relationship with Merrill Lynch,” adds Mary Kay Orr, Global & North American client management executive of JPMIS. “This agreement strengthens our relationship with one of the world’s leading financial services firms and reflects our commitment to providing superior client service.”
