JPMorgan has made two key hires for its expanding Latin America Equity Research division.
Bond Snodgrass joined as head of Mexican Equity Research, while Brian Chase joined as head of Southern Cone and Andean Equity Research. Snodgrass, based in Mexico City and Chase, based in Santiago, Chile, will lead the analysis of companies in those regions, reporting to Ben Laidler, head of Latin America Equity Research and Strategy.
“Bond and Brian are great additions to our team. Our clients depend on our ability to combine global trends and local analysis for the most comprehensive research in the region. The expertise and knowledge that Bond and Brian bring to JPMorgan only enhances that reliability,” says Laidler.
Snodgrass has over 15 years of research experience. He joined JPMorgan from the Snodgrass Research Group, an independent equity research company based in Mexico he founded in 2003. Previously, Snodgrass was a Latin American analyst at UBS, recognised by Institutional Investor magazine in the Conglomerates sector. Prior to that, he was a research analyst at Mexican brokerage, Abaco. Snodgrass, a former United States Army officer, has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Boston Univesity and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University.
Chase joined JPMorgan from UBS in Santiago, where he held a similar regional research and strategy role. Prior to UBS, he was a research analyst at Celfin Capital, Chile’s leading investment bank. Earlier in his career he worked in Mergers and Acquisitions at CIBC World Markets in New York. Chase graduated with Bachelor’s degrees in Organizational Behavior and Management and Business Economics from Brown University.
