John A. Graf will become Vice Chairman of the Board of the corporation and President and Chief Operating Officer of its subsidiaries, AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and MONY Life Insurance Company. In addition, Christopher M. “Kip” Condron, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced the formation of the Office of the Chief Executive. The CEO’s office will be comprised of Mr. Condron, Stanley B. Tulin, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Graf.

As Vice Chairman of AXA Financial and President and COO of AXA Equitable, Mr. Graf will assume direct responsibility for the major businesses currently reporting to Mr. Condron.

Mr. Graf became Executive Vice President of International Retirement Savings at AIG in 2002, having joined the company in 2001 when American General Corporation was acquired by AIG. At the time of the acquisition, he was Senior Vice Chairman, responsible for all group retirement plan, annuity and retail investment businesses.

He joined the Conseco organization in 1987, working primarily for its Western National Life Insurance Company. He rose to Western National’s Vice Chairman and Chief Marketing and Administrative Officer before it was eventually acquired by American General. In 1997, he became President and CEO of Western National and Vice Chairman of the American General holding company, then was appointed Senior Vice Chairman and Group Executive of asset accumulation for American General.

Earlier, Mr. Graf worked for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in its corporate marketing management program. Subsequently, he joined Skokie Federal Savings and Loan where he introduced insurance and annuity products.

Mr. Graf received a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Illinois.
