Euroclear announced last week that John Trundle will become Managing Director and head of Risk Management for the Euroclear group, effective from 6 June. Trundle, who joins Euroclear from the Bank of England, will become a member of the Euroclear Group Management Team.

Currently head of the Business Continuity Division at the Bank of England, Trundle began his career with the central bank in 1979. He has held several different positions there, most recently serving as head of the Market Infrastructure Division from 1996 to 2003, before taking on his current role. Peter Sucaet, Managing Director, who is currently head of Risk Management at Euroclear will become head of Audit, replacing Paul Taylor, Managing Director, who will become head of Banking at Euroclear Bank. Paul Taylor will replace Michael Taylor, Managing Director, who after completing his assignment, has decided to return to London to pursue other interests outside the Euroclear group.

“Euroclear’s attention to risk management is one of the pillars of our strength and reputation,” says Pierre Francotte, Chief Executive Officer of Euroclear SA/NV. “John Trundle brings extensive expertise and skills in this domain, much of it in areas of direct relevance to our business, drawing on more than 25 years of experience at the Bank of England. We look forward to sharing this wealth of knowledge. In wishing Mike Taylor continued success, I would like to acknowledge Mike’s strong leadership in the development of Euroclear’s banking function over the past three years and in contributing to the success of the Euroclear group. I am also confident that Peter Sucaet and Paul Taylor will excel in their new functions, as they have in their current roles.”
