During the month of January 2008, almost 86 million equity trades were done with a value close to Ђ1,900 billion, this means a 67.4% incrase compared to the previous month and 9.6% increase compare to the same month last year.

During the month of January 2008, almost 86 million equity trades were done with a value close to Ђ1,900 billion, this means a 67.4% incrase compared to the previous month and 9.6% increase compare to the same month last year.

The equity market capitalisation of FESE Member exchanges went up to Ђ10,367 billion, 11% decrease compared to one year ago. 47 new companies were listed during the month of January in FESE member exchanges, 26 of which were listed though an IPO.

ETFs trading volumes were at the end of January 171.3% higher than the last month, while Securitised Derivatives were around 51.8% higher.

Bond trading value went down 8.8% compared with one year ago and was more than Ђ830 billion last month and increased by 41.2% compared to last month.

The number of equity derivative contracts traded has increased by 70% year-over-year while bonds derivative contracts increased by 38.8% in the same period.
