James Walker has joined Credit Suisse as a Managing Director and Head of its Americas Investment Banking Operations.
Walker will report to Gary Bullock, Head of Global Investment Banking Operations, and will be based in New York. His appointment is effective 1 June 2009.
In addition to his role as Head of Americas Investment Banking Operations, Walker will become the Head of Global OTC Operations. In this role, Walker will have worldwide responsibility for operational support for OTC derivatives, foreign exchange, loans and commodities. Under Walkers leadership, Credit Suisse will continue to build on its considerable achievements and industry leadership in OTC operations.
Walker joins Credit Suisse from Barclays Capital in New York, where he was CFO for the Americas Region. Walker is distinguished by his considerable global experience in investment banking and his leadership roles in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific at his predecessor organizations. Prior to his role at Barclays, Walker spent 13 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was most recently CFO of Global Markets and Investment Banking.
While at Merrill Lynch, Walker held positions in their Hong Kong and London offices. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Walker spent eight years at Morgan Stanley during which time he was based in their London and Tokyo offices.
