Standard Chartered Bank today announced the addition of James Chu to its Global Investor Sales, Capital Markets team.

As the regional head of distribution responsible for the North East Asian (NEA) region, Chu will be leading the distribution team in Hong Kong, with a focus on distributing secondary loans and other Capital Market products to client banks.

Chu has a wealth of experience in the banking sector, especially in the Greater China region where Standard Chartered is well established. Most recently with American Express Bank, he was director and head of investment products and business development in the Investment & Financial Products Division. In his four years at American Express Bank, he led a team of product specialists and oversaw the development of new investment strategies and products.

Prior to American Express, Chu was with HSBC Asset Management for nearly a decade, both in Hong Kong and London. At HSBC, he was responsible for structuring and managing investment products and funds using derivatives for the wealth management business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“I am truly excited to have James on board. On top of his management experience, he brings a strong marketing background coupled with a deep understanding of a diverse range of products to the table. All this will help to significantly lift our game in NEA,” says Wolfgang Beckmann, global head of distribution, Global Investor Sales, Capital Markets.
