Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) has appointed Olivier Jalouneix as Co-Head of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) within its Capital Markets Origination business (CMO).

Effective this week, Jalouneix will work alongside John Matthews in this role and be based in London, reporting to Joe Dryer, Global Head of Capital Markets Origination (CMO). He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Origination for FIG clients across Europe. Prior to that he was Morgan Stanley’s Head of FIG in Debt Capital Markets (DCM) [2000] and earlier Head of MTN Origination and Trading [1994-1999]. He first joined Morgan Stanley in 1989.

“I am delighted to welcome Olivier as the latest recruit to our CMO business,” says Dryer. “His appointment reflects our commitment to the financial institutions sector and our intention to focus resources on this sector as our clients grapple with the balance sheet and capital implications relating to Basle II. Olivier will focus primarily on marketing Equity and Equity-linked products to CMO FIG clients outside Germany. However Olivier’s breadth of experience spanning both ECM and DCM fits extremely well with our new approach.”

DrKW combined its equity and debt capital markets origination businesses under Joe Dryer’s leadership in November 2002.
