Chris Barber has joined J.P. Morgan as managing director and head of Prime Brokerage Account Management, Asia Pacific.
He will lead the regional Account Management team in providing day-to-day coverage for Prime Brokerage clients, assisting them with their financing and operational needs.
Barber, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins J.P. Morgan from UBS where he was head of Prime Brokerage Account Management across Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was with Morgan Stanley as vice president of Investment Bank Operations.
His latest appointment is seen as an important step in the roll out of J.P. Morgan’s Asia Pacific Prime Brokerage platform in the coming months.
His appointment follows that of David Leahy, who was in May named Managing Director & Head of Sales, Asia Pacific for J.P. Morgan’s Prime Brokerage team.
