Roger Harrold, who resigned in January from his post as global head of Direct Securities Services (DSS) at Deutsche Bank, has joined J.P. Morgan Worldwide Securities Services as Asia Pacific Investor Services Executive, according to an internal memo seen by Global Custodian.

It is believed Harrold left Deutsche Bank earlier this year because he did not wish to relocate from Singapore to London, as requested by Dinkar Jetley, then global head of trust and securities services/cash management, financial institutions, within the Global Transactions Bank (GTB) at Deutsche Bank. Jetley stepped down from his position at Deutsche Bank in May to become CEO of J.P. Morgan Worldwide Securities Services, and now once again serves as Harrolds boss.

Howard Topf, who was appointed to replace Harrold at Deutsche Bank, left the firm earlier this month for unknown reasons after less than a year on the job. His departure follows the appointment of Satvinder Singh, formerly head of Direct Custody and Clearing for EMEA at Citi, to global head of Deutsche Banks Trust & Securities Services division.

Harrolds appointment is effective tomorrow, November 1. He will be responsible for developing the Investor Services business in the region, including product P&L, integrated solutions and alignment to regional and global business strategies, according to the memo.

Harrold will report to Nick Rudenstine, global head of J.P. Morgan Investor Services, and will join the WSS APAC senior management team under Laurence Bailey, CEO of Asia Pacific.
