Members of the International Securities Market Association (ISMA) today elected three new members and re-elected two existing members to the board of the Association. The elections to the board took place this morning at the ISMA Annual General Meeting in Madrid.
The board members who have been re-elected this year are Mr. Jose Antonio Olavarrieta Arcos, Confederacion Espanola de Cajas de Ahorros (CECA), Madrid; and Mr. Alec De Lezardiere, Credit Agricole Indosuez, Paris. Mr. Remo Di Giorgio, Credit Suisse First Boston, Zurich; Mr. Richard Levy, Goldman Sachs International, London; and Mr. Rutger V.C.Schellens, Rabobank International, Utrecht, join the board for the first time.
ISMA also got a new chairman – Alec de Lezardiere of Credit Agricole Indosuez, who has been a member of the ISMA board since November 2002. De Lezardiere is Executive Vice President, a member of the Executive Committee and Global Head of Capital Market Activities at Credit Agricole Indosuez in Paris. He replaces Rijnhard W. F. van Tets of ABN Amro Bank N.V. in Amsterdam who has chaired the ISMA board since 1995. The new chairman was voted in at the board meeting held today following the AGM His initial term of office will be 3 years, running until the ISMA AGM in 2006.
