ISITC (International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication), the industry trade group focused on standards in transaction processing and related communications, announced at its 17th Annual Forum and Vendor Show that Erna Lawrence, retired vice president and custody bank liaison manager at Scudder Kemper Investments, has been recognized with the ISITC Standard of Excellence Award.
The Standard of Excellence Award was created by ISITC in 2010 to recognize an individual who has either made a significant contribution to the industry or rendered exceptional service to ISITC, which is supported through the voluntary services of industry professionals. Lawrence was selected as the recipient of this annual award due to her ongoing commitment and work for the organization throughout her career, as well as continued support well into her retirement.
Lawrence became active in ISITC during its formative years, when the association was first looking to make an impact on the industry. Lawrence was a Scudder Kemper Investments (acquired by Deutsche Bank in 2001) representative at ISITC for eight years during which time she served as an executive board member, marketing chair and treasurer.
Gary Probert, chair of ISITC and managing director at Citi, says, We are thrilled to recognize Mrs. Lawrences ongoing support to ISITC. When we were deliberating the selection of this years recipient, Mrs. Lawrence came immediately to mind, as she was one of the first pioneers when ISITC came into existence. He continued, We are grateful to Mrs. Lawrence for her years of service; it was her vision, commitment and dedication along the way that make ISITC the organization that it is today.
