An interesting name was spotted on the visitor’s register at SWIFT the other day: David Bilbe, formerly head of institutional custody sales at State Street in London.
SWIFT is looking for a new head of its securities division, after the departure of former Citibanker Jim Donovan at end-March less than two years after succeeding the popular Francis Remacle in the role.
A post at SWIFT would mark a return to the mainstream for Bilbe. After an unhappy eighteen month spell at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) between January 2002 and July 2003, Bilbe joined Thomson Financial in September 2003 as European Commercial Director. But he is now understood to have left Thomson, and to be looking for a new role.
