IPC has upgraded its optical point-of-presence (POP) to enable IP service delivery of Enterprise Voice Services (EVS) at its Boston facility.

A new optical POP was also added in Atlanta, increasing its network support for trading floor communications to six continents, 37 countries and 67 cities.

EVS is expected to improve business continuity capabilities, increase site resiliency and operational efficiencies via VoIP for IPC. “The promise of IP for the trading floor is just now beginning to be realized,” says Octavio Marenzi, CEO of research and consulting firm Celent. “Technologic advances such as this move us closer towards the goal of virtualized trading, where resources will be available as they are needed, where they are needed and will not require human intervention.”

“IPC isn’t just a leader in technology – we also pioneer better ways for our clients to use that technology,” says Lance Boxer, CEO of IPC. “The future is clearly IP, and Enterprise Voice Services is part of a series of services that we’re rolling out to help our clients do more. We’re making concrete investments in the future.”
