IPC Information Systems is demonstrating a prototype Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) trading system capable of making calls directly from an IPC VoIP trading desktop to any other VoIP device – at the Securities Industry Association (SIA) Technology Management Conference & Exhibit. In addition, IPC is offering visitors a showcase of IP-based solutions from Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Radianz that are made feasible by IPC’s exclusive end-to-end native IP architecture.

“Voice over IP represents a paradigm shift in trader communications,” said Greg Kenepp, president of IPC. “From the potential for staggering cost reductions, to dramatically easing business continuity planning and enhancing the dynamic and collaborative nature of trading, Voice over IP is the key to the future of trader voice communications. By implementing a native IP architecture at the trader desktop, IPC is enabling the development and deployment of voice applications that respond to the trader’s need to innovate, the CTO’s drive to converge network operations and the CFO’s need to gain efficiency.”

“The Voice over IP research, product development and migration strategy IPC first put in motion nearly five years ago is about to yield dramatic dividends for our customers,” said Stefanie Sovak, IPC senior vice president, business development and product management. “Because IPC’s IQMX(TM) is a native IP device, IPC customers with IQMX systems installed over the last two years will be able take advantage of many of the capabilities we are demonstrating with a simple software upgrade.”
