The London-listed company SVG Investment Managers has launched an absolute return fund.

SVG says that the fund applies private equity techniques, by taking long- and short-positions in European public equity markets. It is aiming to return 15 percent a year.

“Over the past 10 years, private equity investment in Europe has outperformed the European stock market by 9.5 percent per annum,” says Tony Dalwood, the head of public equities at SVG. “By applying private equity investment techniques to European public markets, we aim to capitalise on this opportunity for investors.”
