IntercontinentalExchange Daily Volume Rises 113% For Fifth Consecutive Record Month

IntercontinentalExchange reported Monday that its futures contracts for May marked the exchange’s fifth consecutive month of record average daily volume.

This past May saw a 113% increase over May 2005’s amount of ICE Futures volume, bringing in 338,792 contracts.

OTC trading also jumped ahead of May 2005 – 122% ahead – hitting a record $583,537.

ICE Futures posted two daily volume records in May, with 451,308 contracts traded on May 9, soaring past the record set May 4 with 430,939 contracts.
