Integra SP and Sun Microsystems announced today that institutional broker Prebon Yamane have just implemented a trade management solution linking brokers in London and New York, and tying in third-pary trade processing systems, including Swapswire.

Inttegra says Prebon Yamane has implemented its iaTrade(tm) trade management solution on a network of eight Sun Ultra 80 servers in its London and New Jersey offices. Prebon is initially utilising the system to provide Straight Through Processing (STP) to customers via Swapswire, with additional services to be added in the future.

“We need to provide STP in an open, industry-standard XML API as well as support proprietary customer formats with minimal effort” comments Geoffrey Sanderson, CEO of Kinetech International Limited, Prebon’s IT arm. He adds, “We also need to prepare the organisation for changes in future technology and enhance our ability to deliver services and new instruments to our customers quickly. The Integra SP and Sun partnership successfully delivers a system that combines Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and STP, with full-fault tolerance and resilience.”

Sven Thiele, CEO for Integra SP, adds: “Prebon is focussed on making its capabilities available to its customers and users as Web Services. We delivered a system that is both flexible and scalable and will enable Prebon Yamane to cope with technical challenges, such as varying platforms and message formats, as well as continually changing business processes. The system enables new deals to be created without rewriting software and facilitates dynamic deal lifecycle workflows. By adopting industry standard technology such as Java, Web Services and XML, the system can be extended with minimal EAI effort and cost. This is another example of the continuing strength of the Integra SP and Sun iForce partnership.”

Nigel Woodward, Global Manager Capital Markets for Sun commented: “Sun Microsystems actively encourages partnerships with innovative technology leaders and niche players such as Integra SP to jointly deliver open, robust solutions to the financial services industry. We strongly believe that Java Web Services is the enabling platform going forward, and Sun Microsystems is looking to foster their adoption amongst those finance customers building highly reliable and innovative trading infrastructures. We’re aiming to combine the global reach and resources of Sun Microsystems and its proven platforms with Integra’s innovation. This goal has already manifested itself in successful projects, such as the one recently completed for Prebon Yamane.”

Integra SP was founded in March 2000 by EAI and middleware experts. To date, Integra SP has grown to 50 staff, with offices in London, and Houston and Austin, Texas.
