Caplin Systems says electronic agency broker Instinet is using its technology to distribute real-time streaming prices from Reuters and various other data feeds. Instinet aims to have over 1,000 institutional brokerage users connected via Caplin’s technology by the end of 2004.

The data will be delivered to clients via the Internet and RadianzNet from Instinet’s data centres in the US and UK. In addition, some clients will be able to reduce bandwidth requirements by using the Reuters Triarch system to supply exchange-based prices.

“Caplin will enable Instinet to offer a reliable, complete Newport service over the Internet, allowing us to connect clients to our services at a low cost,” says Steven Brain, first vice president, Instinet, LLC.

Other companies using Caplin’s technology to distribute their data include JPMorgan, UBS, CME, NASDAQ, ComStock and Dow Jones Newswires.
