Anthony Abenante, co-CEO of electronic trading firm Instinet, has stepped down. Co-CEO Fumiki Kondo will now take sole leadership of the firm, a Nomura Group company.
A spokesperson would not give a reason for Abenantes departure.
We would like to thank Anthony for his many contributions to the Nomura Group over the past nine years, says Naoki Matsuba, joint head of Global Equities at Nomura. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
Abenante and Kondo were appointed co-CEOs in June 2007 upon the departure of former co-CEOs John Fay and Alex Goor, who at the time were said to have left the firm to pursue other interests.
